Step Forward - 2007

Early Learning

Jill Bennett returned in January 2007 from a extremely successful visit. The three STEP model Early Learning Centres we planned have been set up and equipped and are now in successful operation. We hope to see this facility extended further. These now support the ever expanding network of 60 or so Early Learning Centres that SFFL operate. We are delighted that Jill has agreed to be STEP’s Early Learning Director. In this role she is now mentoring Wasantha Gunawardena, and through her, monitoring progress at the centres and ensuring that standards are met. Jill is due to visit again at the end of this year and will, we hope, do so regularly thereafter.

There is hope that in the future the Learning Programme can be extended into Primary School teaching.
